Our Story
In the winter of 2021, I moved from Burlington to Portland, Maine, drawn by the stunning natural landscape and a fresh wave of creative inspiration. She and a dear friend started selling handmade wreaths at a local holiday market, and to their delight, they sold out quickly. That moment marked the birth of Wintertide.
Today, Wintertide Floral has blossomed into a full-service floral design studio. We craft garden-inspired arrangements that are rooted in story, season, and space. Our designs honor movement, emotion, and grounded luxury—bringing the beauty of botanicals to life in every moment we touch.
Floral Designer
Jenny Kalanges
My foundation in floral design began on a small flower farm in Vermont in 2014, where I immersed myself in the full lifecycle of the work—planting, harvesting, and arranging blooms directly from the field. That experience shaped my style: deeply seasonal, textural, and guided by an intuitive understanding of form and emotion.
Since then, I’ve honed my craft through years of design experience, drawing on that early training to create floral compositions that feel refined, romantic, and naturally expressive. My aesthetic is loose and intentional—layered with luxurious texture, grounded in nature, and touched by a sense of wild elegance. A steward of sustainable design, I avoid floral foam and plastics, and aim to use local materials wherever I can to have the lightest footprint on our planet possible.
At the core of my work is the desire to create spaces and moments that move people. I believe the best design goes beyond the visual—it evokes a feeling. I most love getting to know my clients personally and creating work that only they can inspire - the best kind of alchemy.
I live in Portland, Maine, with my photographer partner, our son, and our pup, Hazel.
